You know..that's a really good question. Back in middle school, homework was everything. Tests were based off of homework. Now, as a junior, with three AP's, I've decided homework has NOTHING to do with your grade. Homework is literally busy work. Tests are based off your own individual learning and quizzes are things that the teachers go over during class.

Also, homework doesn't tell the teacher anything about how much you've learned. Nowadays, you have this site to help you, wikipedia, etc. Anything.

It's totally pointless. The only homework that I've found has helped me is for history. It's a bunch of reading and essays that question your knowledge about the current subject.

Just as with many things in life, homework may suck but it is a necessary evil at times. Yes, there may be too much of it, or not enough. The main thing I learned from doing homework was to follow through with a project/class assignment, to discipline myself to do what I sometimes don't want to do, and to use the assignment to learn more about the subject matter. It isn't the homework, per se, but the attempt at doing it that makes the mark. Later in life, as I found, but not at the moment of doing it.

Yes, homework matters if you want to learn and earn. The learn gives you a future filled with knowledge. The earn will mean you will get a good grade if you apply yourself and also give you ability to get a good job when you graduate.

Sorry, no one enjoys homework but necessary for education.

Um...dude...yes, it does. I mean, teachers do like, 20% or more of grades as hw. it helps you make sure you actually learned something and is valuable practice for future tests and junk. and if your teachers are demented or sommin and don't have hw as part of your grade, SURELY they have tests as part of your grade.
~~and if your teacher/s is/are just a load of baloney, think about your future! i fyou don't learn anything, how will you get good college recomendation,(if already in college, think about jobs) i mean, if you don't do your homework you can't get glowing reviews and recommendations from teachers now can you?

UM.... ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?!?! OF COURSE YOUR HOMEWORK REFLECTS ON YOUR GRADE. MOST OF YOUR GRADE IS YOUR HOMEWORK. IF YOU DON'T DO YOUR HOMEWORK YOUR TEACHERS WILL THINK THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE LEARNING. IF THEY THINK THAT, YOU'LL BE HELD BACK AND HAVE TO DO EVEN MORE HOMEWORK!

I get the distinct impression that you are going to grow up to be a societal sponge, living off the handouts of others.

Either study or die hungry, boy.

ok, maybe your homework isn't graded. but if you don't do it, your test grades will show it. homework is practice. name one athlete who suceeded in his/her sport without practicing. homework is the same way.
