My Grades Are Not Too Good. I Usally Get All A's so me and my parents will not be too happy. Well Here Are My Grades.

Math - B (89.3 Percent)
Gym - B (88 Percent)
Language Arts - A
Science - A
Reading - D (67 percent)
Social Studies - A
Well I Only Have The Week After Spring Break to Make It Up. Well I Kinda Need To Explain...
It May Sound Impossible But Goal Is To Try To Get all A's.
My reading grade(I Know) is horrible. But the reason It Is So Low Is because I have not yet taken a test. Therefore until I take the test my teacher counts it as a zero. Elliminating The Zero out of my grade will give me an 94 percent :). Next Subject I need to wok on Is Gym. To Increase my grade in Gym all I need is the one weeks "Participation" Grade and I will have an "A". Next I have to work on math. All I need is the points from one homework assignment. Those points will bump me up to an 89.5 percent. In my school that is rounded to an a(90%). Do You Think I have anything to worry about?

I'm doing a junior project for schoool and I haven't even started yet. I want to read books that are interesting that the author wrote? Any suggestions? Please no boring books because this is a very big project and I want to enjoy it. I have to read 2 books from the author and write reports on how it depicts their life.

Why has this irritating trend started for people to pronounce "5th" as "fith" and "6th" as "sikth", when, clearly, they should be pronounced "fifth" and "sixth"? People too lazy now?

I love all things grammatical and language related. Recently I have noticed something being used, mainly in reporting style writings, which I cannot remember ever learning about! It is where the writer is reporting on something that someone else has said or re-stating something already written and they do this - [His] attention was twice called to the warning signs. So what do the [ ] 's denote?

Can anyone enlighten me please?

Me and my wife are from New Orleans and plan to move back in a couple of years. I am starting Pre-Med this fall and want to start learning other languages. New Orleans has a large Vietnamese community, so my goal is to learn Vietnamese down the road because most people that speak a second language in the United States speak either Spanish or French. I want to be different.
None of the colleges I am prospecting teaches Vietnamese, but one of them offers Japanese and Chinese (Manderin).
Personally I am more interested in Japanese, as I am infatuated by their culture and would love to at visit Japan a few times.
But if my ultimate goal is Vietnamese, would either language help me more with Vietnamese? Maybe one is more similar in linguistics, word roots, or characters.
And if anyone happens to have any tips it would be helpful. I have wanted to at least pick up a second language for a while, but my goal is to also look good to a Medical School and/or Hospital.

I am not sure if I would like to be a school principal or get my doctorate and become a college professor. What are the responsibility and pay differences? I know about what a principal makes, but how much does the average associate professor make annually?

ok I'm not in the special education classes but at my high school we have 4 special education teachers and three of them are awesome, but there is the other one who is really mean and rude to the kids in her room. I understand that being a special education teacher can be difficult and it can be frustrating dealing with some of the kids but any kind of teaching can be like that. Anyway the other teacher out of teh four that teachs teh special needs kids is really mean and rude to the kids in her classroom, I see it and I hear that way she talks to them and shes not just that way with those kids, shes like that with other kids in the building even if they aren't doing anything wrong. Should I say something to the principal or someone on the school board? or what should I do? I know its probably none of my buisness but I don't like to see these kids being put down upon by a teacher who is supposed to be helping them, its bad enough that they are teased by the other kids

Id be grateful for suggestions on this one as I need to draft some letters that are 'thought provoking' to its reader. So the first few lines must grab attention.

Im hoping for a real mix of suggestions so havent said what the letter is about.

The letters are:
* asking for help with something
* possibly asking to investigate a matter
* to someone who receives many letters or many like this
* to people who have the influence on decision makers

yeah so i know owls are associated with wisdom especially from greek mythology and stuff. but i remember once someone telling me a long time ago that owls are actually a bit stupid. this person worked with birds of prey and visited my class wayyyy back in 5th grade. i'm not sure if that's actually what they said or if i just made it up. anyone know if it's true? my friend wants a tattoo of an owl because she says it represents everything she wants ("wisdom, mystery, etc.") but that's kind of weird if owls don't. then again it's not really my place to tell her what her tattoo represents...or something...
