Do teachers in schools in the UK have the right of search?

The school is private property and generally the administration can search lockers, etc. at their will. As a teacher I would be hesitant to do a search without the approval of the administration because there are rules about it. If the rules are not followed exactly then a teacher may possibly violate the law.

If you are a student and feel that you were wrongfully searched you may want to seek legal counsel. If you had something illegal then I would recommend just taking the consequence and then stop breaking the law.
