Truancy is when a student that must go to school doesn't go, and doesn't have an excused absence. Imagine a 15 year old enrolled in a public high school in the US who goes to the beach with his friends instead of going to his Algebra class. He would be truant.

skipping school so long with no excuse. you can go to jail or juvy depending on age, for about 4 years if you do so. Texas has strict laws and punishments. Don't ever do it! Police in texas especcially fbi and sheriffs will chase you down and catch faster than the speed of light. I think it's wrong if you do it you're a ******* *****

Truancy is a term used to describe an intentional unauthorized absence from compulsory schooling. The term typically refers to absences caused by students on their own free will, and usually does not refer to legitimate "excused" absences, such as ones related to a medical condition. The exact meaning of the term itself is subject to differ from school to school, and is usually explicitly defined in the school's handbook of policies and procedures. Truancy is the term referring to an absence associated with the most brazen student irresponsibility and results in the greatest consequences.

you get in big trouble for doing it!!
