What is different between diploma and certificate?

A diploma is something that you receive upon graduation. A certificate can be for many things. Students receive certificates for perfect attendance, academic excellence, or you can get a certificate that states that you are allowed to be a teacher. A diploma does not give you license to teach. It simply states that you completed the academic requirements of a school.
