Racism is a belief system or doctrine which postulates a hierarchy among various "human races" or ethnic groups. It may be based on a conception assuming inherent biological differences between different ethnic groups, which would be purported to determine cultural or individual behaviour. o.k. that answer is straight out of wikipedia. i believe that racism stems from fear and intolerance. i also believe that it's completely wrong. there are racists out there as i'm sure you already know just from reading some of the questions and answers on this site.
