Hello,

I just started my Sophomore year in college about a month ago, and every thing is going pretty well. But I'm having second thoughts.

I feel like I'm wasting my time here. Don't get me wrong, I love college, it's just I feel like I'm not gaining anything by being here.

The classes are challenging but not difficult. So, I don't want to quit because of them.

I already know what I want to do for a career. I want to be a Youth Correctional Counselor for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. You either need a bachelor's degree or go through their one year training program to be one.

I don't want to drop out, also, because I am the first one in my family to go to college. So it would suck if I dropped out.

I have a full scholarship so money isn't an issue. I have no trouble maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I just feel like I'm in some sort of day-care center for teenagers.

Any and all help or advice is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

I thanks for the help in advance!

If you're a full time student and also working part-time, I'd like to know how many hours you work at your part-time job per week.

Right now I am attended a community college. I am getting a two year degree and then transfering to a University in my area. I know the credits transfer (I already asked about that) but are the credits I revceive at the community college of "lower quality"? I am worried taking two years at a community college is almost a waste of time.

I have been living in Brazil for the past 4 years, and worked before that in the nonprofit field for about 4 years. I really cant decide if I could be a good lawyer, or if I should go into Urban Planning. Do you think that law school is crazy for someone older than 25?

I want to go to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I was planning on taking AP Chemistry this year but because of a scheduling problem I am taking Physics. I have AC Analysis but other than that I am taking regular level classes. Basically assuming everything I say in the following is true, do you think I should be able to get in?

Assume I have a 4.0 after Junior year
I live in Ann Arbor
My dad went to U of M Ann Arbor
I get around a 2000 SAT score
I have a job
I have a few special skills
I am president or leader or head of a few clubs (ones where everyone gets a nice sounding title, but they probably don't know that)
I take 2 or 3 AP classes senior year, and don't fail them all.

I did ask this before, but I got screwed over on the class scheduling so now I have a different situation. I could do some community service, but what do you think. Does anyone have any information about the kids that get into U of M that are from Ann Arbor (we have a lower standard)? Thanks.

So I've always wanted to be a writer. But now I realize I have a great love for small children and babies. is it too late for me to change my mind from journalism to pediatrics? I'm 15 and I'm already working towards getting into a school like Medill School for Journalism(one of the best in the country). I know I'm still young and what not, but I guess it's always best to start early....

Also, is there anyway I can combine these two professions?

well i'm a junior in high school now and recently i've been trying to decide whether to become a pharmacist or a psychiatrist... psychiatrists make around 150K a year and pharmacist only make around 80-90K a year but then again to become a psychiatrist would mean 8 years of school and seems like a stressful job, but the almost doubled income is really why i can't decide on which to pursue.

I'm a sophomore in college majoring in elementary education... I've always though college was a given, something you did after high school without question.. But now I'm kind of in a slump. I have no interest in going to class, and when I force myself to go it doesn't even make a difference because I find it hard to pay attention. The readings outside of class are definitely not happening. I've always been an A student, but it seems I;ve just lost all interest. I've thought about dropping out and doing cosmetology school or real estate school... But seriously, I know thats not whats best for me, but what is REALLY stopping me is the fact that I'd have to start paying back all my loans when I dropped out. I talked to a friend about this and she laughed at me and when I asked why she said she was going through the exact same thing... I guess it's a sophomore slump? But how do I get out of it?

I recently started college about two weeks ago, which I know isnt a very long time to start making assumptions about how my college life will be. Anyways, this school is notoriously a "party" school, and I am not a big partyer, but i lovee being social. Ive made a few close friends which are all girls, (Im a girl) but I miss having guy friends to hang out with, I just want someone to be able to hang out with without drinking and i feel like theres no one like that here. The people seem very concieted and cold. Im thinking about transferring for the spring. What do you suggest?

I'm thinking of choosing a biology major (plus pre-med) next fall when I will be a freshman in college. I'd like to get a head start and get my miscallenous credits out of the way. As for highschool, I am taking AP English and AP Biology, so hopefully i can gain some credit. As for the summer, my first "real" college level course what should i take?

I want to go to the University of Illinois in Chicago...and for the community college I want to go to Oakton Community College in Desplaines, IL.

I'm currently attending a community college, and am not quite halfway to earning my associates degree. I am really interested in going to another school and becoming an x-ray technician (radiography degree).

My question is, would it be wise for me to finish my associates degree before starting school for an x-ray tech., or should I go ahead and quit school, and start x-ray school?

Personally, I would like to at least have my associates for I don't know if x-ray would work out.

I want to do the best for my academic career, so what should I do? Thanks!
