I'm thinking of choosing a biology major (plus pre-med) next fall when I will be a freshman in college. I'd like to get a head start and get my miscallenous credits out of the way. As for highschool, I am taking AP English and AP Biology, so hopefully i can gain some credit. As for the summer, my first "real" college level course what should i take?
I want to go to the University of Illinois in Chicago...and for the community college I want to go to Oakton Community College in Desplaines, IL.

Get rid of something else introductory - psychology, sociology, something like that. Look at what the University of Illinois will want you to take your freshman year that you won't have to continue. If its something (like a foreign language) that you'll need more than one semester of it may be better to wait for next year so that you get the right preparation for the higher level classes. However, talk to the university that you'll be attending first and make sure that the credits will transfer so that you don't waste your time.

I would recommend taking a "general ed" class. Take English, or History, or Math.
If you can knock that stuff out of the way at a Junior College, then you'll be able to focus your university career on courses that are relevant to your degree. No need to learn English from the best professor in the state if you don't care about English.
The first thing you should do is look at what classes you'll "need" to take in order to graduate. Then, see which of those classes you can transfer in from a Junior College. Of that list, you should take the classes that interest you the least. That way you'll be bored at a Junior College and not at a University.

Check with the university you are going to attend and see what class will transfer from the community college your going to this summer.
From those classes, make your selection! I guess my advice would be to take PE, a foreign language, English, etc.

Physics at UIC is a killer. You might want to get that out of the way.
You can also finish up your foreign language requirement.
