I actually think this is a great choice...because you can save loads of money while working hard (maybe making up for some of the things you wish you had worked harder at in high school) and being able to get into a better school. Both being able to go to a better school, and being able to save money, are huge positives. Good luck!

I think you made a great decision. I also went to community college and then transfered and I'm very glad I did. I wasn't ready to decide on a major right after high school, why spend 20k a semester exploring when I could live at home for free and explore a variety of courses in community college for 1,500 a semester. Also, community college is a great way to look better on paper, assuming you maintain a respectable GPA.

How many of your classes are transferrable. That's the issue!
I personally think you should have gone to Cal State Poly.

first couple years are all liberal arts type classes in most cases. so i guess as long as you do well, its fine, whether u do 2 at a cc and 2 at ucla, or all 4 at ucla, you get the same exact degree.

I don't think it should really matter where you go as long as wherever you do find yourself, you're happy and getting the education that you deserve :)
