I recently started college about two weeks ago, which I know isnt a very long time to start making assumptions about how my college life will be. Anyways, this school is notoriously a "party" school, and I am not a big partyer, but i lovee being social. Ive made a few close friends which are all girls, (Im a girl) but I miss having guy friends to hang out with, I just want someone to be able to hang out with without drinking and i feel like theres no one like that here. The people seem very concieted and cold. Im thinking about transferring for the spring. What do you suggest?

I'm willing to bet there are guys at your school who are just as uncomfortable with the party scene as you are. The question is how to meet them. Do you have any specific interests which would allow you to join something where you could meet people? Unless you are at a really tiny school, there will be a range of people there, and the idea that another school would be better is questionable.

Have you joined any clubs or intramural sports to meet people who share your interests? Two weeks is WAY too soon to decide you don't like everyone at your school.

I suggest also taking advantage of your on-campus psychology services as a preventative measure --- make sure you stay on track with classes (unhappiness about one's social situation at university is one of the leading causes for losing interest in what one came to study in the first place), find new ways to meet people you will like, improve your attitude, etc.

Good luck!

Date someone outside of the school.
