I live in Michigan. My father believes I could go to a "good" school. I am really only looking at Oakland U and Baker College of Port Huron. He has previously made remarks about Baker to the effect of it being "not as good." My question is, if I get a degree from Baker as opposed to a degree from say, Albion, will I really get less consideration during job hunts? Is a degree a degree as I'm hoping?

well im a junior in highschool and i just wanted to ask how hard it is to become a doctor? what was your GPA? class rank? how difficult were thr MCATs? How long was your residency? What do you specialize in? Is it hard?
Dentists-- was the dental test you took difficult? how long did it take you to get accepted to a dental school?
i have a 3.7 GPA and i take all advanced classes (AP) and i am ranked 69 out of 560...i am good at math and science but they are not my favorite subjects...is it vital to be excellent at math and science to be a medical specialist? or can you just be okay at it?

Okay, one of the many parts to admission at Oberlin Conservatory is the online Music Theory Exam.

I took it, but I really think there was a problem in the test. In the beginning of the test, there was a section in which there were six answer boxes, but only three questions. Therefore, I got a 50% on that part. That was on VERY simple "What note is this?" material. Yet, at the same time, I got a perfect score on notated triads and intervals, so obviously, I could read the notes.

My question is two-parted: because of the errors I think I found in the test, do you think I should send the Admissions Staff an e-mail? Also, how big of a role does the Music Theory Exam play in getting accepted?

My fear is that if I explain myself, that I will look bad in front of admissions, as if I'm trying to make excuses.

Also, if anyone knowns specifically, it would be nice to know what the minimum passing grade is for that test. With the errors, I got a 70.......

Would you please introduce me a website that lists meaning of the word 'scriven'?

I typed "scriven" on search bar of Dictionary section at following 10 dictionary websites and searched the meaning about 15 minutes ago, but could not find the meaning at the search:
answers.com, askoxford.com, dict.die.net, encarta.msn.com, infoplease.com, m-w.com, thefreedictionary.com, wordnet.princeton.edu, wordsmyth.net, wordwebonline.com.

Merriam Webster's website displays "scriven can be found at Merriam-WebsterUnabridged.com" " at http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/scriven,... but financially I cannot subscribe the Unabridged version now.

Thank you for your time and help!

im 13 and a freshman in highschool but started as a freshman when i was 12. the reason for this that my birthday is in late october and plus i started school early. it wont be fair because in september when i start college i will be 16 and would be 17 in late october but i cant legally drink then, then i'll feel left out because everyone would be able to take part in government. narcotics and etc because theyre 18 and dont you need 128 credits to graduate in college or just for your bachelors? also you have to take part in courses that doesnt concern your major lol oh wow but i want to work in the medical fields so how many years would that take to graduate there

I'm from France and I'm interested in applying for a bachelor in commerce (HBA) at this university. I know it's high ranking for its MBA. What do you think about this school for undergraduate studies? What do employers think about it in the USA, Europe and worldwide? Is it very selective to get in for international students?

I want to apply to college in the fall of my senior year, however the gpa that i want i won't have until the end of my senior year. What can i do to let the college that i'm applying to know this?

I did bad my sophmore year (one B, one F, and the rest D;s) but now i have straight 100's in all my classes except one and i expect to do the same my senior year.

I really want the college that i'm applying to to know that i slacked off sophmore year but i picked it up my last two years of high school. I think that they will either put me on a waiting list or decline my application. I don't really see myself being accepted on my first application because my gpa at the end of junior year will be a 3.2 and by the end of senior year it will be a 3.6.

So what would someone in my position do in this situation? Do i wait and apply until senior year is over? Do i apply early and have a counselor write a letter explaining the situation? What should i do??? All advice will be appreciated.

I'm in the second semester of my freshman year in highschool. My first semester I finished with a 3.3 GPA (4 B's, 2 A's). And now In my 1st six weeks, I think I might get a 2.83!!! But, 1 C is in Art and the other in Algebra because I made a little mistake on my test which led me to fail it. Anyways, How do they calculate your total highschool GPA and how important it is to colleges? (I was planning to attend the American University in Bulgaria) I know it's early, but I'm just worried.

Here's a link to the college's website:
