AP Economics is generally harder.

Most Americans get a lot of government in their history classes, so the terminology is familiar. Most Americans do not study economics until college, so the terminology is less familiar.

Also, economics has a fair amount of math concepts, so that makes it harder for many students.

AP economics. I didnt have a good teacher.
I really loved AP Government, and I ended up getting a 3 on the exam even though our teacher didnt make it through everything.
I think it depends on the teacher ultimately, so ask people in the classes now and see what they say.

AP Government definitely. It is also harder to get in because there are less teacher teaching that subject. Economics in general is easy because some of the stuff are really basic.
