I'm in the second semester of my freshman year in highschool. My first semester I finished with a 3.3 GPA (4 B's, 2 A's). And now In my 1st six weeks, I think I might get a 2.83!!! But, 1 C is in Art and the other in Algebra because I made a little mistake on my test which led me to fail it. Anyways, How do they calculate your total highschool GPA and how important it is to colleges? (I was planning to attend the American University in Bulgaria) I know it's early, but I'm just worried.

Here's a link to the college's website:

GPA is important, but not the most important thing. If you can get and keep it above a 3.0, you will be fine, and able to get into some colleges. Just do well on your SATs

is olny 20-25% of the admissions factor. I volunteered at a college admissions office and saw this sheet that calculated admissions.

Your grade point average is determined by assigning a numerical score to your letter grade, 4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D, and 0=F. Add all your classes together and divide. Voila. Each school is different in its consideration of GPA's, but it is supposed to be an indicator of how well you will perform at college.
