Dining Out - February 2007

I dont know about you, but I am tired of feeling guilty about eating fast food. If you eat fast food every day, then you probably are going to have some kind of health problem in the not too distant future. But if I eat at mcdonalds only one time during the week, people will say something like, "dont you know what that does to you?". blah blah blah... I excercise 4 times a week as well...shouldnt we be promoting excercise over diet anyway? what do you think?

While talking to friends of mine that work at Golden Corral, they spoke of tables with 8 customers that leave them a dollar tip. I don't think that people realize that the servers that take your dirty plates and get your drinks at buffet restaurants only make $2.38 an hour (at least in Pennsylvania) and depend soley on the customer's tips to make a living. I just wondered if people are aware of this when they dine at buffets. Something to ponder next time you go to one. The servers work very hard and not only do they serve, but also clean the restaurant before going home at night. Tip your servers well.....I know I do!

One of them is around fast food, another one is at food court distributing cards and key chain. The card said that he is a deaf, asking for donation. Are they really a disable person? Can foreigner do this in Singapore????

I believe the last one we dined at had only 6 tables which were immediately in front of the ordering counter. There was no seperation between the tables and the ordering counter and basically no privacy.

Sometime when I go through the drive through, they ask me to pull forward. I used to do this, but then I've gotten forgotten. So now I politely tell them that "I would rather wait here" I usually get a confused look, and sometimes they ask again, but I stand my ground. If my order isn't right, I don't want to half to walk back inside.

I moved to Mesa a year ago from Albuquerque and have yet to find a really good mexican restaurant out here. I guess I am used to New Mexican cuisine and all the restaturants I've been to out here seem more like Tex-Mex. Does anyone know of a place that would be comparable to New Mexican cuisine? Carlsbad Tavern is the closet I've found so far but not great. Thanks. :o)
