Dining Out - June 2007

I know that I should avoid deep fried foods, food in cream sauce, red meat, breads, fatty dressing, ect.. But do you have any other tips? Are there any other certain kinds of foods/sauces that I should avoid?

Would he fit into 'the scene'? He's got the hair for it. I doubt anybody'd like him for his food, except if they had the serious munchies, and didn't care if they were eating animal carcasses. (I usually get hypersensitive to all forms of life when under that kind of influence...

the two times i have ordered from pizza hut it makes me mad. the first time they took 2 hours to get to my house when the weather was perfectly fine. and the second time the woman i ordered with was quite rude ecspecially when i tried to check on the status of my order. they once again took 2 hours to deliver my order. eventhough i think the pizza is good, my sister's both hate it. is it worth the wait?

we ordered 2 large pizza's from pizza hut tonight. first, they went to the wrong address. (an address 5 miles away, not even simular to mine) then the pizza's were both totally wrong. the 2nd time we called, they said they will deliver 2 more pizza's. the correct way this time, and also giving us credit for a future order. has anybody else had this problem with them? we told them the credit is not nessisary if we could just get the correct pizza's.but the guy said it is their policy.

What has happened to REAL pizza crust!?! I'm tired of this porus, airy, and not chewy at all pizza crust. I think they only make money because they have the convenience of delivery and an abnormal selection of weird topping 'ideas'!

I seem to never be dissapointed by local pizzarias...its just the crappy national chains. They suck!

There's this local restaurant/take out place called the Spiedie and Rib Pit that I like to get spiedies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiedies) and fries from...I usually never eat french fries, except when I go out to eat, but I'm worried that they might be using partially hydrogenated vegetable oil to cook their fries....I don't know if that stuff is just used by big chains like McD's and BK or if they use it to save money at most if not all restaurants for fries.

If you could shed any light on this I'd appreciate it. And do you think that if I called and asked, they'd tell me if they used it or not?

I live in upstate NY and I just wish they would issue a statewide ban on trans fat instead of just the city...it's not fair. Finally they pass some legislation I agree with downstate but it does not effect us.

When I was young, eggs were SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE,EXTRA LARGE. At some point the size designations were changed to MEDIUM, LARGE, EXTRA LARGE and JUMBO. As if chickens no longer laid small eggs. My question is: Was this a marketing ploy for the purpose of raising the price of eggs?

I operated a mid-size chinese buffet and I want to find more ways to attract more customer to come to my restaurant. I have 5 stations, 2 cold bars for fruits desserts, salads etc and 3 hot bars that features over 50 items. I don't charge that much lunch is 5.95 and dinner is 8.95 including snow crab legs!I would say is a good deal, I want to improve my business, please give me some good advices. Thanks. What make you come back more and what drive you away?(beside bad food and bad service of course) Do you like a restaurant that serve alcohol beverage more? How often do you frequent a buffet?
For my business I have a busy lunch crowds but at dinner time we slow down a lot and my restaurant is fairly new. Only open for 5 months, and is tricky to run a buffet because the less people to come the harder is it to operate because we have to throw out so much food after they've been sitting at the bar for some time, and we want to keep the food as fresh as possible.
