it's a proven fact that fast food is bad for our health, bad for our waistlines, bad for our animals, bad for our society as a whole. Including adding to the incline of health problems and rising divorce rates. What can we do to stop it?

I gave up fast food years ago and drive past all those places like KFC, McDonalds, etc. and never give a second thought about them.

For Christmas, my mom wants to go to a really nice restaurant in SF, but I don't know of any since I'm not from the area. What is the nicest/best restaurant in SF for such an occasion? Price is not an issue.
If you can, please include links to the restaurants if applicable.

Thanks!

I don't believe in absolutes, they say, "all fast food is bad". if it were so bad, they wouldn't have a shop on every street corner in the US. I try to avoid it but I do eat fast food, at least 5 times a week. Recently, I try to eat as light as possible (kids hamburger and/or no fries), just a couple of side dishes. But even with that, I still feel that contributes to a poor diet.

What about you guys?

Fasika's was located at 2447 18th Street - in the heart of Adams Morgan & was a great Ethiopian restaurant. I proposed to my wife there 18 years ago - but I saw that they had a fire in 2005 & their website says they will re-open soon - but the phone number listed is disconnected. We're going to try Dukem in Baltimore this week-end. We also used to go to the Red Sea, Meskerem, and Zed's in DC. Azeb's closed in Baltimore - or became the 5 seasons & is no longer just Ethiopian.

I can't afford to live in NYC, so I'm going to sacrifice and live in one of the surrounding suburbs. I know that in Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, etc. the accents are pretty thick. Does anyone know of any surrounding suburbs where the accent isn't quite as heavy?? Thanks.

Why do places like McDonald's and Burger King choose to serve what society considers 'breakfast foods' only during certain hours? I'd give them more business if they served breakfast all day! (like Sonic)

The TV commercials look good but for $2 each, I could get a burger at least twice the size. Quiznos sometimes overprices their items, in my opinion. Do you think $2 is a bit much for these new Sammies sandwiches?
