it's a proven fact that fast food is bad for our health, bad for our waistlines, bad for our animals, bad for our society as a whole. Including adding to the incline of health problems and rising divorce rates. What can we do to stop it?

we spend less time as a family talking over the dinner table and all the chemicals and bad stuff in the 'food' has such adverse side effects on those that choose to eat this way on a regular basis. Causing weight gain, etc.and can decrease sexual 'appetite' in men, well probably women too, but I know that it has been proven to do so in men. All of these things are factors that, over time, contribute to marital dissatisfation and the resulting incline in divorce rates.

Rather than trying to convince people that you are correct and they should not patronize fast food establishments, you instead want to force them out of business? What gives you the right to impose your point of view on others? Why do you think you are better than other people, who make choices that you do not think are correct? There were others who had the same point of view as you do about allowing people free choices. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Bin Laden come to mind!!

In the free market, anyone can open a business and offer any product. People are free to buy the products that are offered, and will if they meet the wants, needs, or desires of the customer! People freely choose to eat where they want!

If you do not like fast food, do not eat it! You are free to try to sway others to your point of view. If enough people agree with you and stop patronizing fast food restaurants, they will cease to be profitable and go out of business!

If you think there is a demand for "healthy" food, why don't you risk your hard earned money and open a restaurant to compete with the fast food places! If people like what you are offering, you will be a great success.

Just don't eat there if you don't like it. Lead by example.
It's not so bad as an occasional treat, its just that people need to stop eating there every day. People need to learn moderation and self control. They will just over eat on some cheap food from a grocery store. You can buy ramen noodles for ten cents that have 300 calories in them. I know lots of people that eat those all the time because they are cheap. I think your intentions are good but we need to make healthy food cheapier and teach exercise and moderation more. Education is key.

By the way, how does it effect rising divorce rates? I'm clueless to that one! Will star this question awaiting your explanation.

FAT TAX.

Tax unhealthy fast food places. However such taxes are regressive, they target low income families; research shows that low income families favour fast food restraunts.

However this may not be completely true in growing ecomomys such as Inida and Pakistan where maid servants are common place in households, often with seperate staff to clean, cook, garden, security and drive and most importantly cook.
However, with Mcdonalds and KFC closing down in the wst they seem to be opening up everywhere in the Arab world and Asia. It is often fashionable to at out at such places.

It is simple....subsidise healthy food so that it is cheaper to cook at home. We need to turn around the fat kids in the UK and the States before it is too late. Let's hope no else follows with this fast food business.

Don't go to them. I had a microbiology professor that said he wanted to bulldoze all of them because they are disgusting places (lots of microbes).

Why people go to fastfood? It's fast food and convenient. Ban all drive throughs. Make healthy food easily available and cheap! Market healthy foods. It's expensive to eat well. It takes time to prepare healthy meals that a lot of us don't have. We live in a crazy world. Penny wise and Dollars Foolish.

No need. It will correct itself. All the people who frequent fast foods will eventually die out due to health problems in a Darwinian manner.

Boycott.

boycott them, get your friends to boycott them, if the demand for fresh foods goes up the price should go down and the demand for fast foods will go down as the prices go up, volunteer to educate the low-income people in your community on eating healthy on a low budget and encourage them to do their part
