Dining Out - October 2007

once for your soft drinks then you can have as many free refills as you want. However here in the UK and everywhere else in Europe at these same fast food companies we have to pay each time we want a refill. Why are we being ripped off by these companies here who give free refills to the Americans but not us British. Even the prices they charge here in the UK are double what they pay in the US. This is totally unfair how do they get away with it?

I go to this buffet restaurant like once every week and the chinese waitress that speaks english with a thick accent always takes the plate away, but she does it when I have the last piece of food on my fork or when I have 1 or 2 pieces on the plate, it's like she's watching me just to run over and take my plate away when i'm about to take my last bites of food.

I haven't actually checked to see if she's actually watching me eat, but it does seem so.

last time it pissed me off so much that I only left her a dollar, I usually leave 3 dollars, I eat 2 1/2 plates of food and always take a friend.

What's happening??? I don't understand, was i tipping too little?? eating too much???

i'd say yes its a state problem! health inspecton should include policy to ask employeers to surrend all employee files for inspection! if illegal found employer fined $4000.00 per iccident! manage arrested! jailed for 60 days! automatically!! under a felony can't be rehired at former employer... revue of all incidents of food poisoning complaints!! if inspector doesn't follow this proceder!! complicate with policy and firing in order!

At the Taco Bell here in Forest Hills, NY customers were told that they had to make a purchase in order to get the free taco on Oct. 30. Did anyone else experience the same? I called 1800TACOBELL (customer service ) and was told that a purchase was NOT necessary and the store in question would be investigated. They did offer to send a coupon for something "free". Perhaps I will get it.
