Sometime when I go through the drive through, they ask me to pull forward. I used to do this, but then I've gotten forgotten. So now I politely tell them that "I would rather wait here" I usually get a confused look, and sometimes they ask again, but I stand my ground. If my order isn't right, I don't want to half to walk back inside.
Do you agree or disagree? How many of you pull forward, and how many don't?

Ok when I said "pull forward" I don't mean to the next window. I mean you've reached the last window but you're food isn't ready yet so they ask you to pull forward. So imagine for the sake of this question that the drive through has one window, you pay, and they say "Would you pull forward?"

I don't use the drive through any more for this very reason. Like you, I don't want to have to get out of my car, to wait in line inside to get the right order because they messed up at the drive through. When I did use the drive through, I had to pull forward because every time I went, there were a lot of cars behind me waiting to give their orders. It is a pain in the rear when they mess your order up. I think they should do away with two windows. If they want to speed up the process, they could have two windows and two lanes.

The kids doing this are simply trying to beat the system. They have a timer on the drive thru and after a car has been there a certain amount of time it is logged. I guess they do this to keep out of trouble. I don't agree with the tactic, but to avoid retaliation I pull forward.

Do they walk the food out to you if you pull forward? I've only seen that done with special orders that take awhile.
If that's the case, you're being a bit obnoxious, you could just ask the person to stay for a moment while you make sure it is right.

I think they should give you something free if you have to pull forward.I used to go to lunch with a friend and when they asked him to pull forward he would ask for his money back in a nice way.9 times out of 10 the order would always make it to the window before the refund.

People don't go to a drive thru. People either eat at home or eat in a restaurant. Meanwhile, if you refuse to pull forward to the next window, you never get your meal . . . so what's the point? All the cars behind would sit and honk while you sit an starve.
Which is why it's a lot easier to either eat at home or eat in a restaurant.

the only time i pull forward is @ a local chicken-n-burger place in my hometown - the mgr is very polite, and will only ask you to pull up if he has the order ready for the car behind you ... but @ chain fast food places, nah - i sit @ the window until my order is ready. rude? maybe, but i hate to be forgotten after i've pulled forward

i pull forward due to the act of simple courtesy to those potentially waiting behind me. Would you rather pull forward and wait a few extra minutes for fresh food or have so much made its stale but hey - you wouldn't have to wait! And as far as having to walk back in...I have received incorrect orders when I've pulled ahead and waited and you know what I do? I simply wait a few extra minutes on top of that as I drive thru the drive thru again to let them know its wrong!

I too have gotten forgotten. I'm with you all the way, in fact I get a charge out of the confused face when I am not compliant.
What's the point of a drive through if it's so slow you have to park?

I've always pulled forward. But then I have a bad habit of not checking my order anyway.
