If your chopsticks are made out of wood, and you got them with your takeout, do not wash and reuse them. Throw them out. They could harbor germs that nothing short of disinfecting could get out. There is a reason they are in a paper wrapper; they are supposed to be disposable.

Chopsticks handed down from generation to generation are usually made of a material like ivory or bone, or other exotic non-porous material.

All things will get old That is ture
If your chopsticks are made of wood , it will get old faster than those made of bamboo.
So if you buy a pair of chopsticks made of coherer or bowlder, they wont get old during your lifetime.
