I have a VIERA TH-42PX7A (Plasma 42inch) and I bought a Geforce 8800 Ultra, but when I connect my pc up to the TV it won’t go above 1024 @ 768 resolution! Why is this? It surly should be higher than that? It also doesnt look the best quality wise, I thought it would look nice!

I connected it via the AV cables (not s-video and not through the direct pc connector) is that the problem?

I can buy a radio for under $5 and listen to all the programs i want. If i buy a TV, i can't watch the shows unless i pay for cable. Cable should be included with the tv when you buy it. Why is radio free but tv is not?

I have a RCA f36650. It is only four years old. The picture has compressed at the top and there is a good 4 inch black space at the bottom of the screen. I am looking at purchasing a Toshiba 47HL167 to replace it..maybe. I am just looking into if it would be cheaper to repair the RCA or just upgrade to the Toshiba.

I have a 42" rear projection, hi-def, akai tv. About a year ago I noticed faint "shadows" of lines on both sides of the screen, exactly where the low def picture borders begin. The shadows are not visible on low- def, only hi-def. I've gone from DISH network to DTV and they remain, so its not the signal. Is it time to call a tv repairman? The tv is about 3 years old.

I have a 47" Vizio 1080p tv (which I love), but the only thing i don't get is this: when i press info and the bar on the top part of the screen comes up, it says for RESOLUTION: 480i ... i set the tv up with an XBOX 360 and when i'm playing a game on that it says 1080p. I would like this when i'm watching "regular" tv. I have a High Definition Cable box as well and when i watch HD channels it still just says 480i under RESOLUTION. The quality is better on HD channels yet the resolution does not change. is their a way to change or "fix" this? THANK YOU for your time.

The outage was only in half of my apartment, the kitchen and the living room. I checked the circuit breaker right away and nothing there was tripped. I was home when it happened, and the tv was off but I heard a humming noise coming from my tv, so I unplugged it. (from a surge protecter) When the lights came back on I plugged my tv back in and there is only black and white static and a 1 inch strip of black along the two sidewalls of the screen. Even when the you push the menu button the once lime green options are now gray. What do you think happened, and how can I prevent it from happening again.

I bought the tv about 10 months ago. It's developed a black line down the screen. Engineer has confirmed a new screen is required and order a replacement. Comet have told me after 14 days of the order being placed if the replacement is not ready they will consider giving me a new TV. Am I unreasonable to expect a replacement TV quicker than 14 days ? Can I demand a new TV instead of a replacement screen ?

I have a FLM-3732 37" Polaroid lcd hdtv and I've had it for about 4 or 5 months now and last night the picture went black. The sound still works fine, but the picture is out. You can't see anything, no menu or anything. I looked through the manual and I couldn't find anything about this problem. There is something about a fuse, but if the fuse was bad, the tv wouldn't come on at all.
Anyone with anything, any help at all, I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks in advance!

My mother has an old style PHILLIPS TV Ref: 21TT532205.( Must be about 15 years old)
She's 86 years old and has inadvertantly touched " a button" on the remote control... changing her NORMAL Image to a Film Panoramic....
For the life of me, I cant remember. which button needs to be pressed to get back to normal.... I live in spain and she in London..... so impossible to get her to read the instruction manual over the phone..... as she can hardly see the thing and does'nt understand even the simplist technical stuff. Any body got any SIMPLE ideas... like press the 3rd button the right.... or the red button...... I know this is a really wierd question.... but Maybe... thanks in advance d.
