i want a tv that can do true 120hz, which tvs currently support that? i heard that not all the ones that support 120hz are true 120hz supporters.
i was looking to get the sony kds-50a3000 but i heard this is not true 120hz set.

Samsung and Sony have "120 Hz" TVs, but I don't think they use Motion Estimation/Motion Compensation (MEMC).
Store demos are not that impressive, but test material is bad as well.

They probably use gray frame or black-frame insertion, or they may simple duplicate frames.
I would wait until the 2008 models come out. At that point, most 120 Hz TVs will be using MEMC.

People who get thier knowledge from product info sheets
have the misconception that interlaced video scanned at 60Hz
this is incorrect Odd andd Even lines were are scanned
at 60x per second (each) total scans per second 120

this rate was preserved when progressive scan was implemented the only difference is the video is
processed and digitized prior to scan this allows for
all the data Odd and Even lines to be scanned at the same
time
this process produces 2x the picture pixels scanned per second

there is no 24p
avail are 480p 720p and 1080p

I believe Sony's 40" and 46" XBR4 and XBR5 series HDTVs have that capability.
