Ok, MOST LIKELY it is NOT a PROBLEM....

Samsung starts up like this....

Turn on...
Tone UP....(doodle lee do)
Color wheel (skuh-weeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
Lamp firing (Bzzzzzt........Bzzzzzzzzzz)
Picture on and sound on (louder than the color wheel)

If you watch the Tv you should not hear a loud roaring sound while watching it....if you do and it BOTHERS YOU, then you probably have a NOISY BEARING on your color wheel.
This only occurs if you have had it AT LEAST a couple years.
You will hear it IF you turn your sound all the way off...but that's not how we watch TV.....we watch TV with the sound loud enough to comprehend what the actors are saying.

THAT is the Samsung Standard Test for color wheel noisiness...8 foot away, standard volume level, and do you hear the color wheel.....yes or no.

Samsungs are actually the worst in overall reliability, and customer support is OK.

High failure rates is what Samsungs are known for.

The DLP's are Samscums worst product line. Followed by the plasmas and LCD's. Pieces of garbage.

The Samsungs plasmas you can also find at your local walmart, under the Philips/Magotbox name.

As a TV Tech, knowing the information I know, I would never buy or accept a Samsung tv ever. Some I have seen katch on fire! (Slim CRT).

I sure hope you have an extended warranty on that. You WILL need it.

Not a worry my friend. That is the very powerful led bulb for the rear projection powering up. It goes right away. DLP is the same thing as a regular lcd but it uses a lcd bulb in the back to project the picture. You won't get no burn in either & you should have gotten a good deal. Dlp is the same as an lcd except the projector is in the back. Just a cheaper way of giving you the same technology. Samsung is the best in lcd technology. Great Choice !

Sorry to hear you purchased a Samsung. I no longer work on them because of their very poor reliability and lousy technical support. Hope you bought a service plan and use it.
