I received a plasma for Christmas and need a little help setting it up. The directions may as well be in Greek and the book is the size of a small novel!!

It's a Panasonic TH-42PX60U... nice and BIG!

Sometimes while viewing cable channels though I see a distinct shimmer in the image. Don't quite know what that is. Any ideas?

I want to get one, but you lose so much picture currently with primarily standard programing, and I frankly like full screen better (it 'looks bigger' for the size paid for).

I'm going back and forth on whether to buy one now or to wait until either programing truly goes widescreen or until the TV manufacturers go back to full screen.

What do you think?

I haven't got a scart cable, i've got one of the more old fashioned things, with those round holes. I've found where to plug it into the tv, but none of the channels on the tv seem to work. i can tell the tv has recognised it because the terrestrial tv cuts out when you turn on the playstation. Any suggestions?

Okay, that was just to grab your attention. Now that I have it, here is a question that none of you answered when I asked it a million times yesterday:

I just got and Xbox 360, complete with component cables, and I was going to plug my 360 in to my 46 inch wall mounted Samsung LCD TV, but, of course, the component cables are on the back, which is unreachable since the TV is wall-mounted. I guess I could just use the regular AV cords, since the side of my tv has the AV plugs in reach, but that's not the same. I need hi def from my 360. Anyway, taking down the TV is not an option. How can I do this?

Model number KDFE42A10 for the Sony and Model number LN-S3251D. I just purchased the Samsung LCD HDTV 32" for $1150. But someone is selling a 42" Sony LCD RP HDTV for $1050. Though the Sony is used it is still in warranty and was bought in July. I was wondering what TV is actually better? I will be playing the xbox 360 on it. I wanted to stay away from RP but I've heard Sony's has amazing picture quality.

I don't have an HD subscription channels yet, like ESPN for example, but CBS shows their NFL games in HD and my TV just looks like an average TV. I've been to a couple of friend's houses in the past few days that have LCD's or Plasma and their picture quality totally blows mine out of the water. Also when I watch a DVD, the picture quality isn't anything special either. I heard that all LCD TV's should be professionally tuned to the right setting, is this true? Basically what I want to know is what can I do in order to get my TV picture quality looking good? Did I not turn on a setting or something? Any help would be great, thank you!

The dvds of the TV series are only produced full screen. I have a new widescreen HDTV. I didn't even think of this problem before I bought the TV. Is there a way to change something on the TV or DVD player to be able to watch without people looking like a fun house mirror reflection? Thanks so much.

I have a flat screen fujitsu tv (pretty sure plasma). i accidentally left it on w/o anything on. now its messed up (burnt?) and i have to switch videos (video 1 to video 2) repeatedly until it works. It says here http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-burn-in-on-plasma-screens that JscreenFix can fix things like logos, does anyone know if this can work with a whole screen or if there is another way to have it fixed? Also, when it works, several vertical white lines cut through the screen.
Thank You

Whats the difference between a Plasma TV, LCD TV, and an HD TV? (the difference in the picture and what it can do~not the technical difference)
