Also i see nothing about chat rooms on here...which i loved on AOL...Also i can't even figure out if i can see if my friends are online when i am....don' see anything about a buddy list on sbc...HELP...love the computer but please tell me i didn't make a mistake by switching to sbc and saving a few bucks....thanks to all....

This is not a TV-related question, but here is your answer :-)

sbcglobal.net is just a broadband provider, you can still use your favorite instant messaging even your old aim account using SBC.
So, you can download AIM (or use the web-version of aim) and talk to all your old buddies
You can also download yahoo messenger and use Yahoo groups, etc.
As a member of sbcglobal.net you can also use Yahoo Music Launch Plus. Listen to internet radio with no commercials.
