Technology is going in the way of HD, now if you like plasma you could get an HD plasma...but sources say that everything is turning HD and you will need a converter by 2008 if your not HD compatiable. So I would personally go with HD. Hope this helps!

A Plasma TV is a display technology just as a CRT and LCD are used to display an image. HDTV is high definition television, which means it displays not only a wider (more movie like) picture but a higher resolution than traditional TV. So they are not the same things to even compare... you can just as much likely find a Plasma HDTV as you can any other type.

If you can afford to spend $3000+ on a viewer, does it really matter. They will each last about 3 years, then they will break, that is the way they are desinged. And business is good.
Get a Plasma that is HD compatible and you have the best of both.
