I want to get one, but you lose so much picture currently with primarily standard programing, and I frankly like full screen better (it 'looks bigger' for the size paid for).

I'm going back and forth on whether to buy one now or to wait until either programing truly goes widescreen or until the TV manufacturers go back to full screen.

What do you think?

In the US, FCC mandates that by Feb. 2009, all TV stations need to transmit in Digital TV. In Europe, it is around 2010 the latest.
DTV does not mean HDTV, but 16:9 screens are here to stay.

TV manufacturers have invested way too much money in the new format, there is no going back. You can wait, but when you buy, buy a 16:9 set.

it will definatly be all widescreen in the near future, in the meantime there are alot of screen options on todays widescreen tvs that make it work pretty well with the current 4:3 format. Get one now
