Here in the UK, often times on satellite stations, there appears a black box in the corner of the television (usually on the right) which has white bozes moving through it. Does any one know what this signifies? Is this recorded content or something? It is like a progress bar or something.

Thanks!
Mike

I can't seem to find parts #s on them. How do I ID them and test them? I don't want to throw them away if some audiophile might like them.

So which frequency range is best for portable speakers, i want them to be loud

a frequency of 150Hz-20kHz
or a frequency range of 60 Hz to 33 kHz ?

which one is lets say the loudest because i want portable speakers that would be loud enough to fill a fairly large room.

Thank you!

Hi,
I'm wondered,if there is a way to watch satellite tv channels for free in the US without beign a subscriber to a local cable or Satellite TV company>
I've been to Europe and my friends had some kind of pirate-made cards for receivers to watch satellite tv for free.
Could I buy a satellite system over Ebay?
If yes, could someone suggest me any decent satellite systems on the market?
Thank you

In the manual with my new toaster (Kitchen Gourmet 2-slice toaster), there is a warning that the product contains lead and you should "wash hands after use." More confusing, there is a strip of white paper over the warning, so the warning is visible through the paper but is clearly meant to have been blocked out. Since this product was made in China, and since there has been news lately about Chinese-made products containing lead, I don't know whether to consider this toaster safe to use. I have no way to know whether the paper-over thing means "this warning does not apply" or "we think this warning looks bad." In addition, I don't know the implications of lead in a toaster. If it is only the exterior paint, presumably the toast would be ok? On the other hand, if there is lead somewhere that may contaminate the food, there is definitely a problem. On a web search I did not see recalls for this particular product. How safe is this toaster?

Why? Was it the desire to see TV sharper than the Human eye can see? Were you just paying too little for movies? Or are you just the betting type, riding all that money that the one you bought will be the one (if either does) that sticks around?
Perhaps you’re a big fan of the movie studio’s deciding what you can and can’t do with the media that you purchase?
Seriously though, I’m curious why someone would buy into either of these.

I am trying to put together a circuit that will cut electricity off completely when demand falls below a preset or adjustable level and then turn the power back on full when demand for full power is required again.

For example: Cut the power completely when voltage draw drops below 9V but turn it on when draw is 9V or greater.

I don't care about backing up the whole disc. I just want to get the main title. And I would like for it to not lose any quality when I transfer it to a PMP. Just something that will download a certain section of the DVD. Please and thanks.
