I have tried connecting the RYW lines out from the VCR with the original connecting to the Same IN ports on the unit being used to record. I have checked both VCR separatly in their ability to play and record. They individually work fine, but nothing is working when trying to play from one and reconrd that output into the other.. I don't want to copy purchased movies I'm just trying to make a copy of a home video for family members that as yet do not have DVD players. It might cost me less if I just bought them DVD players.

With the trees in the area I live, I question as to whether or not I can get a clear shot to the satellite. I call Directv and authorised dealers in the area and they basically tell me I have to have it installed to see if it will work. I can't even get someone to the house to look first. Any suggestions?

I need to convert 110V to 220V and would like something with more than one output so that I can plug in a few different appliances to one converter. Something that can deal with different Hz (50/60Hz) would be nice too.

Anyone know a good brand? Give me a website please.

Plugged in the wrong adapter to the tape recorder and the voltage was higher than required. Is it possible that its just a small fuse or is it hopeless. Its a Sony Portable, very high end and I hate to lose this quality product on account of carelessness. Will not play now either by electricity or battery.

Thank-you in advance.

There's a place in Santa Monica that does very good work but I don't want to spend the up front money in case its hopeless.

I currently have comcast, but am thinking about switching over. Verizon will also roll out its cable tv service later this year here and am also thinking to change that. Would it be worth the changeover? I despise comcast, who think they are boss just cause they are the only game in town. It shows when they raise prices and the customer service over the phone. I hope Verizon is better.

Bill Gates uses microchip technology to control house settings based upon a person's preferences and physical location within the house.

RFID technology could be used for simple things like turning on lights when a person walks in rooms, setting television preferences depending on who is holding a remote control, and setting computer privacy and filtering preferences when a child is detected near a computer.

I'm thinking about getting a HyTek Big Button Universal Remote for my grandparents, but I was wondering if you someone here could help me out with a question that I have? Here's a good picture of the remote:

http://tinyurl.com/27nl2h

As you can see, the navigation arrows (in blue) are on the Play, FF, and Rewind buttons. The fact that the arrows are blue seems to indicate that it's only to be used for Satellite (which is also blue on the remote).

Does this mean that this remote doesn't have DVD navigation? Or does it mean that a shift key (which I don't see) will have to be pressed in order to use the arrows for the DVD function? As far as I can tell if I were to hit the up arrow in DVD mode the disc would just start playing.
