I'm having trouble with uploading photos to my computer. Usually when I hook up the camera, this is what happens:

1.The computer "blings" because it recognizes there is something plugged in.
2. I press the "on" button on the camera and a little blue light on the front starts blinking
3. The pop-up wizard comes up and asks if I want to upload photos and what not.

Well, yesterday I hooked up the camera and turned it on the computer "blinged" as usual but instead of the light blinking, the camera just came on (which is never does..it just blinks).

I asked on here what could be wrong and they said my USB cable is probably damaged. However, if the USB cable was damaged then wouldn't the computer not "bling" when I plugged it in?

I'm wondering: Is it the cable that is damaged, or is something wrong with the camera itself? Thanks for any help.

I received my new top up tc anytime box today and am trying to set it up.
In the instruction booklet, it gives you instructions on how to connect it to a VCR and a TV, but I have a DVD player.
One of the leads provided is suppose to link the top up TV box to the VCR, but it does not fit into the back of the DVD!
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

Hard disk can be any size, I certainly don't need 80gb but this maybe the smallest available. I want to be able to record to the hard drive but also burn my recordings to a RW if I need to. I'm looking for the cheapest yet reliable, quiet and easiest to use model available!! I've seen one at dabs.com which looks to have all this - has anyone got one - is it any good? Any other recommendations/links are welcome. Thanks!!

They're the typical, small colored ones. I like to leave them on overnight even though it's not Christmas. About how much money would this add to the electricity bill?

Right now, I have a stereo that is connect to my computer by a 1/8 to RCA cable. Soon, i'm gonna have my stereo system taken away and i'm planning to buy a home theater system to replace it. i'm wondering if each of these would be able to connect to my computer without any reciever or extra machines. i want to connect these to my computer. Do these systems come with cords to connect the speakers? if so, which one is the better buy?

I have a Sharper Image 3-cd stereo hooked up to a 6 speaker powered subwoofer system. :). When I am playing CDs, radio, or something on my auxiliary cable, I get a background noise. Western station 98.7 to be exact. It has started to get really annoying. Sometimes it plays louder than the music I am playing. Just when I think I can escape, the cordless phone rings. I cab hear it there too. On the phone, I can hardly hear the person on the other line.

Is there some way of eliminating this background noise on either device, or perhaps just lowering its volume? Any suggestions would be well appreciated.

i once had a chat with my dad about an electronic device that allowed you to run things plugged in at full power yet would use less wattage from the mains, therfore decreasing the electricity consumption. is there such a thing? i cant ask my dad cos he's dead now so has anyone else heard of this or knows what he could have meant.
