Lcd has a vga connector to it and I want to connect my monitor to my dvd recorder that has a tv tuner. To basically convert my lcd monitor into a tv without using one of those converters like TVBox. Can it be done?

You need to have an input on the LCD monitor which matches one of the outputs on the DVD unit. Most LCD units these days accept a variety of inputs. List the respecitve inputs and outputs, and if you find a match, the appropriate cable will do the trick.

Unless you have a VGA output on your DVD recorder you can't do it. Look for an analog to VGA converter.

i swear i don't work for Radio Shack but go there and tell them your situation, they have more adapters than you can even think about. the will hook you up. you might have to bring the monitor to them so the can get you the right connections. good luck and let us know how it went.
