I watched a rented DVD at a friend's house. Her player had started causing ALL of her DVD's to fade to a darker screen while playing, to jump, and to skip somewhat. We weren't able to finish the movie, so I took it to my house and put it in my player (an expensive RCA player). The DVD did the same thing in mine!!!
I had never had ANY problems whatsoever with my DVD player before this! I went and rented some more new release DVD's and when I put them in my player, they started doing the same thing again!!!

HOW COULD A PROBLEM WITH HER DVD PLAYER GET TRANSFERED OVER TO MY PLAYER?!?!?!

This makes no sense to me at all, but it has happened somehow. I love my player - it records and plays CD's. I can't afford to buy another one right now. Please Help!

I recently bought a brand new side by side fridge with glass shelves. I put one of my dinner plates on one of the shelves and it has scratched the shelf. I didn't think that this would happen, upon closer inspection of my dinner setting, a part of the base is like unglazed pottery (this is the way the design is meant to be).
What can I do about the fridge? Do I have any rights in sending a letter to the fridge company (westinghouse) - I have checked the instruction manual and it gives no warning about what to put on the glass shelves. I would have thought that the glass wouldn't scratch easily or that it would have a coating on it... What can I do? Thanks

I'm dubbing 4 cds for my dad to pay off some debt. I'm using a DR-MX1S. I know now that you have to "finalize" it after dubbing it to get the visual feed to work on a computer, but the sound still doesn't work; what am I doing wrong?

We purchased an Innovage Universal Remote with an oversided keypad for my husband's grandfather recently. He has a Magnavox MWD2206 DVD/VCR combo. My husband is setting it up for him right now, but we can't find a code that works for the DVD/VCR combo. He does have the instruction booklet but there is no information about this machine. I have been searching online for information about codes for this remote with no luck.

Does anybody know which code(s) to use to program the Innovage Universal Remote for a Magnavox MWD2206?

If the DVD player has a special plug-in socket for attaching a microphone, will the lyrics to a karaoke DVD being played on it show up on the television set? I am taking into consideration the way a lot of DVD players are labelled as "DVD with karaoke".

I am just wondering.

Which Upconverting DVD player should I buy?

Since I'm completly not interested in buying an HD-DVD player or a Blu-Ray player until the prices come down and their is a clearer winner between to the two, I need an upconverting DVD player.

Im deciding between:
Philips DVP5960
Samsung DVD HD860 (the HD 960 is more money but does it play more files?)
Sony DVP-NS75H
(You can mention/recommend another if you like)

I've got a 42 inch plasma that does a beautiful 1080i picture and I'm LOOKING for the unit that has the best picture quality but can play burned DVD-Rs/DVD+Rs the best.

I'll hook it up through HDMI with HDMI cables I got from monoprice.com (I refuse to buy Monster cables for those prices).

If anyone has one of these players or has another than please, by all means say something.

"use and throw" fashion? Also, why isnt there a digital measure readout of the remaining power on a mobile phone battery? It would be easier to know how much charge it needs to be given to be considered "Charge full"? For example: Time remaining for full charge: 28 minutes? Why keep the phone user guessing on how long the battery will last?

I am looking for the best HD DVD Player (upconvert, HD, etc.) that I can buy for a low price. I know everyone says that you shouldn't go for a low price, but I want to. Does anyone know of a good HD DVD Player with component input/outputs? I doesn't need to have HDMI, but it has to upconvert or be at HD quality. I am looking for one under $150. Thanks!
