video cassette is VHS formet. 1"x3"x5" size. CD/DVD is 3.5" disc. to save space ,,I like to convert itinti cd/dvd..i think this require to (a)How to save on desktop/ laptap(b)How to change formet vedio to cd/dvd formet(c)then last burning on disc using nero/+cd/dvd burning

You need special hardware to attach to your PC to import video from VCR/VCP.

Special card for accepting analog video signal and then some program to covert it into digital format. Pinnacle AV/DV is the most suitable and economic option. It has both hardware and software bundled and cost is around Rs. 9000/-

After importing you save as AVI file and use Nero to make the CD. This way you can incorporate maximum video in a CD.

I am doing it since last two years.

these are the steps
1. connect vcp/vcr to computer video grabbing card
2. use software which help in video grabbing from video grabbing card..it starts from P...just dont remember name...
3.then save the video in avi format..checking diskspace
4.use software like winavi or nero to make vcd or a dvd
5 converting to mpg format and copying on dvd as data might aswell work.

burn the CD in a burner


save the cassette then burn it u can take Nero burner
