I'm having trouble with uploading photos to my computer. Usually when I hook up the camera, this is what happens:

1.The computer "blings" because it recognizes there is something plugged in.
2. I press the "on" button on the camera and a little blue light on the front starts blinking
3. The pop-up wizard comes up and asks if I want to upload photos and what not.

Well, yesterday I hooked up the camera and turned it on the computer "blinged" as usual but instead of the light blinking, the camera just came on (which is never does..it just blinks).

I asked on here what could be wrong and they said my USB cable is probably damaged. However, if the USB cable was damaged then wouldn't the computer not "bling" when I plugged it in?

I'm wondering: Is it the cable that is damaged, or is something wrong with the camera itself? Thanks for any help.

If you have XP or later, the PC will automatically recognize the camera as a "hard drive".
When you connect the camera, turn it on, and see if the PC assigns a hard drive letter to it. Navigate to that folder using explorer and you will find all your pictures. Then move them/copy them to your PC as you would with any other file.

No need for any popup wizards!
