With the trees in the area I live, I question as to whether or not I can get a clear shot to the satellite. I call Directv and authorised dealers in the area and they basically tell me I have to have it installed to see if it will work. I can't even get someone to the house to look first. Any suggestions?

The satellites often follow the sun in the Spring and Autumn....if you have a good view of the sun as it arcs across the sky, you are likely to be able to get a dish. Take a look at where you want to put a dish. Is it ever in the shade?

Now, if you are going for Direct TV, you are just pointing at one dish, somewhere around 119 degrees (SSW).

They won't even come look? I'd go to the Directv.com site and put in a complaint with the head honcho there. Then call the locals again and say you put in a complaint and they should start cleaning out their areas because someone's going to lose their job soon. I bet someone would show up within the hour.

Well, put in the complaint at the website anyway.
