It annoys me! My kids have battery operated toys, almost all using mutiples of 1.5V. Oh good - I have AAs and Cs! Oh wait - it needs AAAs....

Why not make the battery compartments all the same size, probably AAA so they fit smaller toys?? What is the reason for having the same voltage in different sized batteries?? Sales only?

Such as if I made a learning tool for children, pressing a button while, for instance, a picture of an apple is matched to the word "Apple", a green light turns on. If the picture was matched to say, the word "Dog", a red light turns on.

But it has to be in the form of an electronic chipset. The lights need not be the said green/red.

It would be nice if you know the proper name of the set and possibly a weblink.

If you can't find it, providing a possible alternative will also get you best answer.

I'm looking for something both affordable as well as reliable.

I keep hearing good things about TomTom 710 and GARMIN C-340.

does anyone have one of these units or know which is better?

A tech came out and said I had to tell my landlord. I do live in an apartment, but I have the wire maintenance plan. I do have an HD box, but the HD doesn't look as clear as it should. The cable is frayed slightly and I did a self install kit. I know what I'm doing, so should the RG-59 be replaced with RG-6? And will charter do it?

We have a DSC alarm, that has an electric transformer that plugs into the wall. When it is plugged in -- it emit an low-volume oscillating hum -- that is fairly disturbing.

Any idea how I can eliminate it without keeping it unplugged?

Thanks

We just bought an HDTV. We wanted to upgrade to an HD package with dish network. We thought we only signed a one year contract with them a year and a half ago. They wanted $300.00 for the equipment to upgrade!! Concast had a better plan and it would only cost us 100.00. We already have comcast hooked up and we LOVE it! However dish network told us we are loked in for another 6 months. They are telling us we have to pay $200.00 to end our contract. Is there any way to get out without paying? Our service was always good. The customer service always sucked though. Please help.

what's required to make this digital radio process successful?

2007-02-12 08:06:44 · 4 answers · asked by Anonymous

For example, our toaster. It used to have a potentiometer (knob) on the side you turned it to a number, pressed the lever to lower the bread and it cooked fine. Now it has an LCD display with separate + and – buttons. Every time you turn it on you have to select ‘Toast’ (not defrost or re-heat) and press + a couple of times to get to the required heat setting. Surely this is going backwards? It uses electricity if it’s left on, doesn’t remember the temperature if you turn it off and the buttons will probably wear out before anything. It’s the same for other things as well: microwaves, phones, Hi-Fi’s, DVD players, TV’s, Cars…

Does anyone else feel sometimes we are cramming so much technology into things that it makes objects harder to use or we are sacrificing quality for convenience and so going backwards?

Bit of a rant I know! Any views would be helpful.

i still see a picture. it's as if someone just pushed pause. does this mean that the dvd player is no longer any good? i have done the "canned air" cleaning. the dvd's are clean and not scratched. the dvd player does this on brand new dvd's as well as rented dvd's. has this happened to anyone else? what did you do to fix the problem?
