Contact your cable company, I do not have HD yet but I do have digital cable and it has done the freeze thing and it did go out sometimes too-a lot in DEC.06 and a little in Jan 07 and a little less in Feb 07. I reported this problem to the cable company and I was told they checked it out and they told me there was water in the lines due to the cold weather.

HD requires a stronger signal in order to decode properly. What signal levels may have worked fine for analog or even regular digital cable could still be low enough to not provide a stable HD picture. Call the cable company and they will likely replace all sorts of cable lines and perhaps insert an amplifier where the cable comes into your house. When we got our Rogers HD PVR put in, they had to replace the cable out to the street and the one to our box with higher quality cable as well as make changes in their box before they could get a high enough signal level for all the HD channels to come in without pixelating.

Call your company and let them know....you may get some money taken off if you explain things well......
This happened alot when we 1st got HD with comcast....especially with ESPN for some reason. Everything has been great for a while now and they keep adding HD channels all the time!!
