have a video cassette of my daughters baby days & half way through somebody has taped cartoons over it !!!!!
Is there anything i can do, is there companys that can rescue the footage or is it lost forever?

I am sorry to say, but it is history. The next time you have something valuable like that, take out the recording tab on the video cassette. That will prevent it from being recorded over.

It is possible to retrieve some, but the process is very expensive and there is a high risk of obliterating the rest of the tape. Your first problem would be finding somewhere to do it, then there is the huge cost, tens of thousands of pounds.

no...i'm sorry there is nothing that can be done now...upsetting i can imagine...just make sure you take lots more film and remove the tag so that it CANT be taped over!
