whats the best way to get good reception?
the ariel that came with is useless,
any sugestions for better reception?

Best thing you can do is get a better aerial. The yagi types are the best. If you can get it outdoors, even better. You point it towards the broadcast tower and you'll get much better reception than the little wire one that comes with the radio. Here's one at Maplin:

They call it a 6-element, but its really only 3.

There's bigger and better ones from this page if you're trying to pick up something more distant and they range in price from £15 for an omnidirectional antenna to £48 for a bit 12 element yagi
