I have an old DSC-P71 and it took amazing shots of my friends out snowboarding. I started to get megapixel envy and upgraded to a Canon S70 but all the photos came out blurred. I sold that and bought a Sony DSC-P100 but that also took very blurry photos. So I went back to my old 3 megapixel friend. Now, the view finder has broken, and I need to get another digital camera.

It has to be Sony, as I have 2x 4gb memory stick pro duos, and I don't want to buy additional memory.

It has to take great action shots out of the box, and be small. I don't want to have to make a million adjustments, just switch it on and take amazing photos of my friends taking jumps and such.

Any advice on the N2, W100, W7 or older Sony digital cameras from snowboarders or skiers is much appreciated.

i want to get a digital camera, but i dont want to spend a ton of money on it. ive noticed that refurbished ones are a lot less money...i will be using the camera for taking pictures of my friends and me, stuff like that, nothing fancy. so do you think it would be better to pay more for a new one or would a refurbished camera be okay for what i want to use it for?

Hi,
I am thinking that they might be a fake site, where they can take the money and forget about any deal or over charge the credit card ?

I've heard you can use the batteries to help reduce use of resources. How do you get the batteries out and not ruin the camera film? Thanks

I have an analog srl minolta dynax 5000i. And am thinking to update to digital. I am debating now to keep my lenses they should work on the sony alpha's. or buy everything new. As I have a bit of an arm disability and cannot carry much I am also trying to find one that is a bit lightweight. Also I have no idea if old SRL camera's and lenses are worth anything for selling on.

Any advise is welcome.

Have to buy one by this weekend. Don't need anything fancy (I wouldn't take the time to figure it out anyways) - won't ever hook it up to the computer.
Suggestions?

My budget has pretty much limited me to these to dSLRs. I have never had an SLR camera before, but have had 3 digital cameras. I have no lenses, so the problem with the lenses in the D40 should not be a problem. Another alternative is to just spend $200 on a film SLR to just get the feel for them. Please help! Thanks.

I'm currently thinking about purchasing a digital SLR camera.

Apart from the normal setting that come with a normal SLR camera I'm particularly interested in having an additional setting which will allow me to take black and white pictures as well as coloured pictures. Can you buy cameras that are able to take good quality pictures in both colour and black and white settings?
I’m undecided whether it is best to just buy a camera with a good number of pixels and opt against the black and white setting and just manipulate my pictures on my PC. I'm also unsure which makes have the black and whites settings? I would appreciate any suggestions on which cameras or makes I should be looking at particularly.

I've heard some photographers refuse to switch to digital and would rather shoot 35mm (film). Why? Are there benifits to shooting with 35mm instead of digital?
