After careful consideration, I've come to the conclusion that the D80 is the camera for me. Being rather new to photography I'm finding that I'm completely lost regarding lenses. I'm hearing the kit lenses that come with this model aren't worth bothering with. Having the budget of a measley AUD$400 - $US - 326 is there a better option than the kit lense to get me started?

I have a fuji finepix A202. I lost the drivers for it so just downloaded the usb driver and the relevant finepix viewer.

When I am connecting the usb cable nothing is happening and I get an icon on the toobar saying Mass Storage Connectioin but then says error and wont work. I checked the things I downloaded and they are the correct ones.

Is there something else or another way of saving my pictures?

Thanks

I am hoping to purchase a good DSLR in the next 6-12 months, and need some help in deciding between Canon and Nikon.

I recently bought a Canon Powershot S3 IS to fill in the gap, and I love this camera, my first experience with Canon.

I have a Nikon N70 SLR that I also love, and had thought to stay with Nikon, to use my existing lens. It is a Nikkor AF 24-120 zoom lens, and also have a tele-adapter for it. Will this lens work on the Nikon DSLR's?

All things considered, which brand, if either, would be a better camera for my uses? I take a lot of nature shots: flowers, trees, insects, animals, more close up than wide angle.

Oh ... my budget will be $900-$1,200 (I hope).

Thanks for any advice! Would especially like to hear what Dr. Sam's opinions are ... appreciate your expertise.

Ok i have a 7.0 MP Samsung digital camera , it wont hold a charge. The rechargeable batteries it came with took a crap, they wont hold a charge. I have also tried regular rechargeable, rechargeable digital camera batteries as well as the regular duracell AA's. None of them will hold a charge and I can only get about 4 pictures before my camera dies! Its only a little over a year old so the manufacturers warranty is up....is it time for a replacement camera??

I am not an expert in lighting nor cameras, but I was wondering if a throwaway camera with a flash would work inside of a convention center? What I am saying is in the next few months I plan to attend this convention near my residence and want to bring a camera. Will the pictures I take from this event develop nicely? Or will the pictures come out ugly due to the flash or lighting of the place?

There is one for pretty cheap on craiglist. it comes with a SIGMA ZOOM,28-80MM 1:3.5-5.6 HF MACRO, strap, memory card, battery.

All for $345

How naive is it to believe that this is a great deal?

If I do end up looking at it, what are some points of interest to check on the camera concerning functionality and making sure that nothing is messed up?

i'm going to take photojournalism with a 35mm SLR. But being someone who's too used to digital photography, 35 mm SLR camera seems challenging, but it's a whole new world to me. I'm someone who's very interested in lomography and i often hear the brand 'Zenit' around. Thus i'm hesitating if i should get a Nikon/Canon...etc camera and invest in a Zenit camera instead. Is it a good SLR camera? Please recommend 35mm SLR cameras to me!

Pixie had a good question, and I want to follow up by asking the real camera buffs what different filters they own for their digial cameras. I stopped buying filters years ago for my 35mm, and was used to paying $13 to $15 for each. Went to local camera store to snoop around and was shocked by sticker price of $48- for 1 filter.

I have one of those mini digital cameras The problem is for some reason the only way I can get it to take photos is if I plug it in to the computer and press capture on the computer screen, If I take it away from the computer and take photos with it they show up on the screen but when I plug it in it only shows the pics I took when it was still attached!

I really need a way to take photos while it is disconnected from my comp... can anyone help?

I have been considering buying my camera from the US as the same camera (EOS 350D/EOS 400) appears to be cheaper in US rather than in the UK. Still undecided whether this is a good idea I would like to know what type of experiences other people have had!

Does anyone know of any reputable US companies that will ship abroad?
Has anyone had any experience of buying digital cameras from abroad?
Has anyone experienced any problems with buying such equipment from the US?

I have limitied mobility and need a digital SLR that I can place in unusual positions (like near the ground). But I need rig to view what the camera is seeing at all times on my remote pc. I might have to stay there for quite a while, and then I want to trigger the shot from the remote pc. By remote pc, I simply mean the short distance to a chair where I can sit and watch.
Any brands, rigs or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Is there a setup by any of the mfr available?

I don't have much experience with buying camera products, so I was wondering if (for filters) the more it costs, the better it is? Or in reverse, the cheaper it is, the crappier it is?

One of these (http://www.amazon.com/Innovage-Outdoor-Sports-Digital-Camera/dp/B0009RWK7K) would be great if it had higher MPs, a flash, and didn't drain batteries in 5 minutes. I don't even need a picture viewer if it helps the price or size. Do you know the dimensions?

I have read the manual about ten times and no where in the manual does it talk about downloading the pictures from the digital camera to the computer. Does anyone know a website for Sony where I can maybe fix the problem with my new Cybershot DSC-W55 Digital Camera? Or a 800 number? Should I go back to Best Buy tommorrow and ask a sales associate how to download from the camera? I am so irritated there are photographs I need off the camera on to my pc asap!!

Please help me out!
