I have read the manual about ten times and no where in the manual does it talk about downloading the pictures from the digital camera to the computer. Does anyone know a website for Sony where I can maybe fix the problem with my new Cybershot DSC-W55 Digital Camera? Or a 800 number? Should I go back to Best Buy tommorrow and ask a sales associate how to download from the camera? I am so irritated there are photographs I need off the camera on to my pc asap!!
Please help me out!

For all my cameras, I use external memory card readers.
A simple reader for Sony would be cost less than $10
The advantage of using a reader is there is no software necessary, the memory chip looks like a drive (d:, E:). They usually work faster, and save the batteries in the camera.
Reading the memory chip in the camera usually reqires software drivers installed.

YOu need to install their software or get a card reader.
You can try plugging in the USB cord and then going to My Computer and see if the Removable Disk shows up. Then click on that and see if it shows your picture files. This would work with XP and Vista some of the time.
If you don't have a disk go to Sony Site and download the driver.

I certainly have a Cybershot W55 and it will take any reminiscence stick professional or reminiscence stick professional DUO card. I dont understand what your previous digicam took, yet maximum Sony Cybershots take the professional or professional DUO. in the experience that your previous one is professional or professional DUO then it is going to paintings. If it is not a similar, then possibility is it wont paintings.

The last tutorial is how to transfer images from the camera to a computer running Windows XP. Watch the video and hopefully that solves your problem.
