Three megapixels should be plenty enough for printing 4x6s, maybe the occasional 5x7. Two things come to mind:
First, the lens may be crappy and full of distortion. If that's the case, nothing much you can do about it.
Second, do you have the resolution set for its highest quality? If not, find the settings menu and choose the best one available. It may say something like "large fine".
Good luck.

3.4 should give a decent picture. It's still within the range of a good image. The only reason it might be weird is if it's an off brand or kids camera that uses a CMOS instead of CCD. That can cause the problem.

You can take pictures with the worst camera in the world but it will still come out looking like you and your friends. Change the way you're taking pictures. It may not be good QUALITY if you're using a camea phone.

No. Its mainly because of the sensor. You can have a 4MP camera and make it look amazing it just depends on the quality of the sensor. Cheap sensor = bad picture. Also distorations at wide angles maybe a factor if you have a cheap old camera (HP mainly).

I agree with the first poster partly. Three megapixels should be plenty for a good looking picture. Maybe you just need more light. I'd need a better description of what's wrong with your pictures.
