Just received new digital Nikon D80 with a Tamron 28-80mm lens. I have not inserted the battery yet (not charged). With lens attached, I look through the viewfinder and it looks fuzzy. Is there something wrong or do DSLR's need power to get a picture?

I am really falling short of good advices. Let me tell you what problem I am facing.

I enjoy photography but I that is limited to just as a hobby. For casual photography I bought Sony Ericsson W810 mobile with 2MP phone. You may find this very funny but at that point of time I did not have money to put into a camera and also I did not have any passion for photography. Since then after having taken so many photos with the mobile I feel I have improved and my passion has increased. So now I am somewhat ready to buy a camera. Here lies the confusion.

I need your advice here. One of my friend who is an expert in photography tells me to go for Canon SLR which costs about Rs 20K. Another one tells me to go for Sony or Nikkon which falls within Rs 5K.

I do not want to work with a less expensive camera which does not provide good results. Did you have any similar experience like me? Should I go straight for an SLR or a normal digicam?

What is the best and cheapest HDTV service?? I just got an HDTV and am with Direct Tv but willing to switch to whatever if it saves me money. Any help would be great. Oh, and I was looking online, can i buy an HDTV reciever from say Samsung and get HD channels??

I have a 20" Sanyo CRT tv. Picture is excellent and the sound from the speaker is great also. However, when I turn on the TV there is a very loud buzzing sound, which drowns out the tv sound and makes watching it unbearable. Is it a bad relay or something? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone from T-Mobile. It works quite well also as an MP3 player + FM radio. But I am wondering what will happen when my T-Mobile contract is over and I want to switch to Verizon with a new phone? Will I still be able to use this Nokia phone as an MP3 player + radio?

Bought a phone case for my Samsung A727. The small strap to hold the phone has magnet on it to keep the case closed. I don't know if it will harm my phone when I am taking it in and out.

How much do you pay to have a cell phone unlocked for you that you buy off the internet? also... i have a phone that my friends two year old got ahold of,, enough said there, well... i DO have insurance on this phone, but i was wondering... if i got a new phone with that, does it extend your contract even though you didnt just up and buy a new one? I got a ps3 last month for my husband for christmas, and let him open it early two days ago, but it gets really hot. It is really warm to the touch. Cool air comes out of the front vents, but the sides are hot air. My games, when ejected come out with smears of sweat on them where the system got so hot.
