I want to buy either a ps3 or an xbox 360 which one has better graphics?

From what I can gather is that it is basically the same, some games are better on one, and some are better on the other. But in the future it might change, cuz Xbox does 1080p, and 360 only does i, or 720p. Also the PS3 has a higher potential for getting better graphics, as well as 50gb of space on a disk to put more and more stuff on, also adding to its possibility of better graphics in the future. But it seems that buying either for its graphics isnt a good decision, decide based on games, online, reliability, price.

They look identical for multi platform games (games that come out on both consoles) though in console exclusive games, the Playstation 3 has the edge. This is because of the hardware of the PS3, which includes the RSX GPU and the Cell processor CPU, the cell processor is an extremely advanced processor which consists of 8 SPE's (cores, which are CPU's in their selves) and one PPE (power processing element). Whereas the xbox 360's CPU has only 3 cores, which cannot share processing as well as the PS3's cell can. Also, the PS3's cell processor and RSX have independant RAM pools, the PlayStation 3 has 256 MB of XDR (extremely fast RAM) main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory for the RSX, which allows the PS3 to render DX10 like graphics, while the xbox 360 can only use DX9 like graphics.

As of right now, not many games take advantage of the PS3's advanced architecture, though games coming soon such as Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4 will start to tap the potential of the console.

They both have the same. So decide based on this.... If you like Halo and would play Halo online with your friends then buy the 360. If you could careless about Halo then buy the ps3.
