i have a sprint cell phone but dont like it and i have a CONTRACT so dont tell me to get rid of sprint because i cant, walmart.com says they have unlocked cell phones and i dont know what that means , does that mean that if you get one you can use it for any carrier without getting into trouble ? HELPHELPHELP

unlocked cell phones mean they can be used with any carrier.
It is generally much easier to switch between phones on a sim card network, where you just pop the card out of 1 phone to the other. But I am sure you can do something with the other networks.
I am not sure if sprint is a sim card network.

You can get out of your Sprint contract. They make you pay a lot. Maybe about 100 to 200 dollars.
Once you get an unlocked phone you can use it on T-mobile and ATT. These are the 2 USA carriers that use the sim card and GSM technology that is used in most of the rest of the world.
No one gets into trouble if you use an unlocked phone.

Yes that is what an unlocked phone does. Are you sure they have unlocked phones at Walmart??? You ususally have to special order them online.

btw the new unlocked apple iphone just came out in france. you can use it with any service.
also, to unlock a cell phone, call your service and ask them for a code that will unlock it. they are obliged to give you one.

If your phone has a sim card, you can put your simcard into that phone and you basically use that phone instead of your old phone. And that's what it means.
