i got a new video ipod.... and ive had it for about 1 month now and now i can not get it turn off (as in the whole ipod) ive tried holding the pause/play button but i didnt work.......i even tried to reset it but it wont work!! PLEASE HELP ME

Here's the situation:
I dropped my cell phone, and now the key pad doesnt work
Everything else is fine.
Now instead of just repairing it for a stupid fee (when i can just use an old one) I was wondering that since the color screen is perfectly alright, if it would be possible to use it as a television.
that would be great but probably either impossible or super expensive. in any case, its worth a shot huh?

Please help!!! I'm pretty sure the SIM card still works because I took it out and dried it right away but the phone itself or the battery doesn't want to work!!! Can I get a new phone and use the same SIM card or will I have to get everything new? Can someone explain this to me? Oh, and I didn't have insurance on the phone, so I will have to pay for whatever I get :( Thanks for your help!
