they are humans i think and the people that beilt the halo the humans look on wikipedia .com and put in halo 2

on the expandable disc for multiplayer, there is a certain map that has a subway train running by every so often. that is the guardian.

they aren't really anyone or anything specific... they're just "the guardians"... halo2-best game eva!
