i got a new video ipod.... and ive had it for about 1 month now and now i can not get it turn off (as in the whole ipod) ive tried holding the pause/play button but i didnt work.......i even tried to reset it but it wont work!! PLEASE HELP ME

1. Leave it alone for a minute and it'll turn off automatically.
2. Hold down the Menu button and circular button together for about 10 seconds.
3. Exchange it.

Restore it using the iPod updater that came with the CD, or by downloading the latest updater from... http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ Downloading the new one is wise, because since your iPod is a month old it probably has 1.1 software which has issues with videos and other things. 1.1.1 is much more stable.

After you restore, all content that was previously on the iPod will be gone, so don't freak out. You just have to update it on iTunes again and everything will be back to normal.

Go all the way back into the main menu, and then hit the sleep button

press the select and menu buttons simultaneously until screen comes on
