I want to purchase a panasonic 50inch TH-50PZ700U, that is 1080p and I want to hook up the xbox 360 hd dvd player to the tv. From what I have gathered the xbox can put out a 1080p signal through the component cables, but the tv I wish to purchase will only read up to a 1080i signal through the component (and the vga, in case anyone was wondering). The only way it can read a true 1080p source is through the hdmi, which my xbox does not have as I bought it last year. I'm just wondering if tvs normally upscale the picture to a 1080p and if you would really be able to tell the difference, or do I really need to go get a new xbox with the hdmi? Thanks for any help!

I always thought an original main amplifiar controls everything including the bass, until i found out there was an amplifiar for the bass, so when it comes to people having speakers and such in their car, they have more than one amplifair in their car?

Hi. Besides ordering through a catalog, are there any stores where I could purchase a magnifier for a television set? If so, where, and if not, are there any online stores that sell tv magnifiers where checks or money orders are acceptable forms of payment?

Also, how much does a tv magnifier cost and are they easy to install? Thanks.

So how does Tivo work when recording stuff? And during the times when you rewind, how do you get back back to the current scene after you're done watching the rewind? Can you fast forward? What other features are there?

TV transmission is transitioning from analog to digital, will this be the case for standard radio's? If so, are we going to be stuck with a prize today, but junk tommorow with our radio?

I looked on sites like Best Buy and circuit city, but that all include dvd players or 5 disc changers. I don't need this, I wan't something like a 5.1 or 7.1 system with a receiver that I can hook up my DVD player, TV, and game consoles too. HDMI ports will be needed in the receiver as well. (That transmit adio and video) Someone please HELP!I want something good and reliable and not some no-name company.

The cost adders for the services we actually are getting is unfairly high. I understand the local cable service does transmit Local channel H.D.

I have owned my Nikon D40 for a few months but the zoom which is on the standard lens is not very good and it also does not allow me to manual focus. I have researched lenses but they are all so expensive! Is there a nice one that is not too much money?

I have a issue with my onkyo surround speakers not playing very loudly. I have a onkyo ht-r510 receiver and use the standard onkyo speakers that came with the htib. I use sony tower speakers for my left and right channels. I have the volume and distance info for all my speakers programmed into my receiver. The rear speakers use roughly 25 feet of 16gauge speaker wire, but still seem fairly soft. Any suggestions on how to make my rear speakers more effective?

Okay, i have some nice speakers but don't think the receiver is really fully utilizing them. My front speakers are the JBL ND310 II, a JBL PB12 subwoofer, 2 KLH rear speakers and a bose center channel speaker. The receiver i have now is the sony str-de685. It's a pretty basic receiver. Any suggestions on good receivers for a moderate budget to really get the full effect of my speakers?

I am looking to buy a 40" HD TV

I can't make up my mind whether to go for the

Samsung TV
LN-T4061F
LN-T4065F

or
Sony
KDL-40V3000
KDL-40W3000

What I have noticed is .
There is a 300$ difference in price .. and a lot of other techie information specific to each tv.

Can someone shed some light into this?

Are there any other websites that I can use to make a more realistic comparison?
